  • Arthur: King of Britain

    Michael Fraley

Paperback (Caliber Comics, Jan. 26, 2015)
From Michael Fraley comes this history of the famous character known as King Arthur. This fully illustrated graphic novel is based on the original adventure of Arthur as written by Geoffrey of Monmouth in the 12th century. Geoffrey’s work is considered one of the most important books of the medieval period and served as the basis from which all future Arthurian tales have been created. This was the original work before later authors and Hollywood added their own embellishments. In Geoffrey’s work, there was no Camelot, no round table, no Holy Grail, and no Knights of Chivalry. But there is Arthur and this is his tale. It is believed that the character of Arthur was based on a real person that Geoffrey discovered in his research. But that the mentor and magician, Merlin, was a creation of Geoffrey that was added to serve as a narration device for unveiling the tale.
  • I'm Theman!: The Heroic Adventures of a Brave Young Boy

    Michael Friesen

    Paperback (iUniverse, Feb. 15, 2002)
Yes, I'm Theman. The boy wonder. People love me. Kids think I'm cool. Girls are attracted to me. Kids parents think I'm special. I'm also full of it. I don't know for sure if any of this is true. But you know what? I don't care. It's my story and I'll tell it any way I want. As long as I think these things are true, they are. It only matters in my mind. I have a knack for creating my own world. A lot of kids buy into it - they believe I'm popular because I tell them I am. They don't know any better. The girls like it that I think they like me. I also work to convince many of them that I like them. And they like that. You see there's a lot of positive feelings going around. I like people. They like me. So everyone's happy. I'm nice about it, you know. Not cocky at all. I just believe my own press. I believe the reputation I've created for myself. Of course there are some exceptions- guys who don't accept me for who and what I say I am. I don't know if they're jealous or if I interfere with their desire to be perceived as cool and popular. Probably both. But I have subtle ways of making my detractors look like jerks. Or getting them blamed for things they didn't do.It all makes for a pretty darned good story. And fortunately for you, if you're reading this, I'm going to share it with you. Before I start, let me give you a heads up. First, don't try this stuff yourself. It takes experts like me to make these things work. Second, pay attention. You're going to learn something. About life. About love. And about the pursuit of popularity. The story begins early on Saturday morning on the last weekend before school.

More recently, we've become afraid of a habituated Christianity, thinking that routines will rob our faith of its vitality. The net effect is that we've replaced the habits that surprise the world with habits that mimic the world and both we and the world suffer for it.Integrating the five habits in the BELLS model -- Bless others, Eat together, Listen to the Spirit, Learn Christ, and understand yourself as Sent by God into others' lives -- will help you spread the gospel organically, graciously, and surprisingly.Michael Frost, a world-renowned expert on evangelism and discipleship, makes evangelism a lifestyle that is fulfilling, exciting, effective, and easy to live out!
  • Treasury of Fairy Tales

    Michael Foss

    Hardcover (Michael O'Mara Books, )
A Treasury of Fairy Tales is a collection of all time favorite children's tales retold for the modern child by Michael Foss. The stories of Hands Christian Anderson and the Brother Grimm, although classics of the genre, are often found to be rather long-winded for the modern child and the modern parent reading a bedtime story! In this volume, Michael Foss has re-written these stories so that none is longer than 2,000 word, while at the same time retaining all the original flavor of these old favourites. Classic stories such as Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella are accompanies in a Treasury of Fairy Tale by equally classic illustrations. Nearly every master of the form is represented, including Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac, Kay Niesen and Warwick Goble. The illustrations, most in full color, are reproduced to exacting standards which show them in their original beauty.
